Load Of Aluminum Wheels Stolen From Gimlet Road Property
Local authorities were called upon to investigate late last week after a load of aluminum wheels went missing from an area business.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to Tips Inc., 4260 Gimlet Road, around noon on Friday.
Owners reported that someone had stolen from the premises a total of twenty-five aluminum tractor trailer truck wheels, with a combined value of approximately $3,750.
The complainant told deputies that he had checked into the matter and was able to provide them with the name of a suspect. He said that the suspect had attempted to sell several wheels to Burleson’s Salvage the previous week, but that the owners had refused to make the purchase.
Investigation into the crime is currently continuing by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation is encouraged to contact the department at 931-762-3626.
